Alexis Cole has been compared to legendary jazz vocalists Sarah Vaughan and Anita O'Day. A Top Winner of the Jazzmobile Vocal Competition (judged by T.S. Monk, Catherine Russell, Grady Tate, and Dr. Billy Taylor), third-place winner in the Montreux Jazz Vocal Competition, and finalist in the Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition, she has released fourteen albums on Motéma, Chesky, Venus, and Zoho Records. She has recorded with artists including Fred Hersch, Bucky Pizzarelli, Don Braden, and the Taipei Jazz Orchestra, and appeared as a featured soloist with the Boston Pops and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, and headlined clubs and festivals throughout the United States and Asia.

An acclaimed educator, Alexis teaches graduate jazz voice at Manhattan School of Music and previously led the vocal jazz programs at SUNY Purchase and William Paterson University. Her former students include Grammy Award winner Samara Joy and rising star Anaïs Reno. She is the founder and director of JazzVoice.com, an international online community for jazz singers, and co-founder of the Virginia Beach Vocal Jazz Summit.

Her latest release, Taking My Seat: A Musical Inheritance, marks her debut as a pianist, featuring her longtime trio with bassist David Finck and drummer Kenny Hassler.
